European study tour Part 3: Visit Nica GbR

NiCa GbR was founded in 1999. It is committed to cultivating the "Beauty Ladies" species of Photinia europaea.

In 2003, the company purchased the semi-finished products of Photinia europaea and cultivated Photinia europaea in a sales factory with great potential and momentum. In 2004, NiCa GbR signed a cooperation agreement with Europlant Canders GmbH and Eden's Creation bv. In the future, NiCa GbR has obtained the authorization for the budding and breeding business of Photinia species "Beauty Ladies". This is an emerging plant business, which creates the conditions for the successful production of seedlings and completes a series of processes from bud propagation to authorized propagation, and enjoys a high reputation in the European flower planting industry.

NiCa GbR's farm mainly produces cuttings and seedlings, and can also provide customers with a variety of flower seedlings in autumn.

At the same time in 2004, Nica GbR established a 12000 square meter greenhouse vegetable garden. The greenhouse was divided into four 750 square meter rooting areas, a 7000 square meter planting area and a 2000 square meter workshop.

In the next three construction stages, it will expand to a total area of 30000 square meters of cultivated land, of which 8000 square meters are rooting areas. 3500 square meters is the working area and 1000 square meters of germination room. Since May 2014, NiCa GbR has obtained the GLOBAL G.A.P certification standard.

NiCa GbR farm can produce 25 million seedlings per year at this stage. In order to meet the needs of customers, we purchased relevant gardening equipment from Visser in the Netherlands, which greatly improved the production efficiency.

Visser has more than 25 years of professional knowledge in the field of automatic planting operations, and has developed a set of models that can be widely applied to small and large nurseries for transplanting into hole trays and flower pots. Fast switching of different modes, visual control and programming, high reliability, and planting capacity of 45000 plants per hour. The damage to plants can be reduced to a very low level through advanced grip operation.

Storage and preparation of soil substrate is the basis of plant cultivation. The appropriate system can be selected according to the volume, the quantity of different substrates and the application requirements.

The NiCa GbR greenhouse workshop is a feature, with two roofs in one span. The window opening system of the greenhouse adopts the unilateral window which is relatively rare in China. The window opening position is determined according to the local wind direction, which makes the air circulation and is not easy to be damaged to a certain extent.
